WHO WE ARE

Soundcrafter is a group of freelance crew members specializing in the recording, design, editing and mixing of sound, who are affiliated with a recording and mixing facility.

Since 1993 crew members have worked on both sides of the budget spectrum, from studio features to student films. Although most projects are independent narrative features and documentaries, crew members also deal with broadcast and streaming television series, amusement park presentations, commercials, gaming, web content, gallery displays, audio books and podcasts. The six studio facility accommodates all post audio aspects including Dolby Atmos mixing, ADR recording, Foley recording and screenings.

If you need help with your sound you can either contact the crew member directly or email info@soundcrafter.com. If the project is lower budget the crew member will likely do most of the work at their home studio. For larger projects, the crew member might act as a supervisor and bring in additional crew members to help. Editing might still be done at their home studios, but the recording and most of the mixing might be done at the facility. On lower budget projects the client usually pays the crew member directly. On higher budgets the client usually pays Soundcrafter.

The rates for the labor and facility will vary depending on the size of the project. For union projects, ADR/VO recording, and for outside supervisors and mixers we follow a rate card.

Crew members have many years of experience. This makes a big difference in the quality of mixed dialogue, reducing noise, mixing for surrounds, use of compression, reverb, delay, and other processing. They enjoy creating a sound design that will help tell your project’s story. Their goal is to provide a successful and smooth experience, and do it within the clients budget.
